[ well riddle sure doesn't want these dumb shirts now!!! which is silly and irrational, given this entire debacle is his own fault anyway. it's not the shirts' fault, so he elects to keep them for now.
riddle knows better than to assume azul would give up now that he's more or less figured it out, so he isn't surprised in the slightest when he sees his guess. oh, fine... time to take his medicine. ]
...You're correct. Which I understands makes this your business somewhat, hence why I wanted to keep you from guessing. You have enough to deal with as it is.
Yesterday he whisked me off on another one of his adventures. We went to a nice restaurant, as you now know, and then we joined a party on the beach and danced together all evening. On the way back, he lent me his jacket, and made some silly comment about liking how I looked in his clothes.
[ he knows azul didn't ask but he's just letting him know out of principle... ]
[Oh... well that's rather... sweet? But that does also explain why Floyd swore up and down that he could not be bothered to take a work shift yesterday...]
Well, thank you for finally being honest, even if it took you a while to get there.
[There's a pause, before he adds.]
As an aside, while I do appreciate knowing about this now, you can be rest assured that I will not do anything to jeapordize whatever relationship it is you have with Floyd, nor am I particularly interested in doing so. You don't have to tell me every single you two do together if you don't want to.
[Contrary to popular belief, Azul does not control the eels, they are allowed to go be around whoever they want. And have whatever private parts of their lives they want kept private as long as it doesn't interfere with their work in the Lounge.]
[ phew... at least azul doesn't seem annoyed, or like he disapproves. in fact, the rest of his response has riddle blinking in curiosity, admittedly a bit confused. ]
I see... I was never under the impression you would do anything to interfere with whatever it is we have, at least not without due reasoning. I thought you had a right to know because Floyd is your close friend. I know if I found out someone was dating Trey, I would consider it my business to some degree. It is my duty as his best friend to do everything I can to support him, and if I feel his partner isn't someone good for him, I would let it be known to him.
[ far be it from riddle to keep his know-it-all opinion to himself... ]
If I thought that you, or anyone else really, weren't good for him, I would have already said so.
And then Floyd would more than likely disregard my words and do as he pleases anyway.
[Like, lets be real here, since this is Floyd we are talking about.]
That said, I trust him: he wouldn't actually be with someone if they didn't truly make him happy, so I have no worries in that regard. As long as his relationship with someone doesn't interfere with the Lounge, that is.
[because Azul and the tweels are allergic to the mere concept of just admitting that they are in fact friends, you get this long winded justification instead, sorry Riddle]
[ a chuckle of relief; riddle is starting to catch onto the octavinelle trio's apparent allergy. goodness knows why they're so hesitant, but riddle supposes that keeping their cards close to their heart is just the octavinelle way. it's the opposite of the queen of hearts', which is why it's as fascinating as it is infuriating. ]
Right you are. That silly boy will always do as he pleases above all else. Has he always been that way?
Worry not, Azul. You can trust I will not be an accessory to his truancy at the Lounge. Our not-dates are often spontaneous, so I can't guarantee he won't use me as an excuse to dilly-dally, but on the off-chance he lets it slip that he should be at work, I will be sure to scold him.

[Sorry Riddle, no free childhood stories about Floyd unless you trade something interesting first!]
But thank you, I appreciate hearing you say that.
