[ being cute and clingy does little for the girlboss image he works hard to portray to the rest of the world. having someone who appreciates his company is nice though, riddle certainly can't deny it.
riddle wants to die for a myriad of reasons. all these compliments are downright intoxicating. it's no secret toji can have him eating out of the palm of his hand in no time with the right words, but try as riddle might to remind himself that's all they are, the right words and nothing more, it's still difficult not to take them to heart.
living in what was essentially imprisonment for most of his life has left him broken and naive. what innocent little creature wouldn't be taken with their first taste of such honeyed words? riddle almost feels stupid for being so affected by them. hearing that his body, his sweetness, his presence will be missed... has anyone ever said they would miss him period?
then again, knowing he is replaceable eases some of his burden. it doesn't necessarily feel good to hear, and deep down he wonders if whoever toji seduces into his clutches will enjoy his company as much as he does, if they'll hate the idea of leaving him alone as much as he does.
