[Shu's becoming accustomed to the plethora of delicious desserts available, but can't help admiring the macaron tower. He opens his mouth, intending to say something smart about the complex craft behind macarons, and how France has mastered the art of pastry, when the tray unbalances rather suddenly and ducks beneath the table, correctly anticipating the shattering of those plates. He's starting to understand how things work around here.

Doesn't mean he approves, though. When he re-emerges, their messy surroundings only cause him to shake his head ruefully. If there's one thing Shu can be counted on for, it's criticism.]

I don't suppose you can repair this china with a wave of that magic staff, can you? It looked quite elegant.

[He can understand the catharsis of smashing breakable objects into pieces, but he can't condone destroying something beautiful—unless it's a beautiful pastry, and he's destroying it with his molars. Gingerly reaching out his hand, Shu plucks a pink macaron from the top rung of tower. He pops it into his mouth and chews, and expression instantly brightening.]

The texture and taste of the jam... both are perfect. Très bien. I'll gladly accept more tea to accompany these sweets.

[Not that he intends to eat too much and ruin his nutrition. But at the very least, he must sample each flavor; it would be foolish not to. For that reason, two more macarons are withdrawn from the tower.]
